Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon five-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, brown sugar, and garlic.
  2. Marinate chicken in the sauce for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Place chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, brushing with marinade halfway through.
  5. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  6. Serve with jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables.

Notes

For a restaurant-style look, add a drop of red food coloring to the marinade.
