- 1 cup 100% white grape juice or pear juice, chilled
- 1 cup sparkling apple juice or plain seltzer water
- 1 apple, thinly sliced (Honeycrisp or Gala recommended)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds (optional)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2–3 whole star anise (optional)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the fruit: Wash and slice the apple and orange into thin rounds or wedges. If desired, soak apple slices in lemon water to prevent browning.
- Mix the base: In a large pitcher, combine the chilled apple cider, grape (or pear) juice, and sparkling apple juice. Stir to combine.
- Add the fruit and spices: Add the sliced apple, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and pomegranate seeds to the pitcher. Stir gently.
- Chill before serving: Refrigerate the sangria for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse. For best results, chill for 4 hours or overnight.
- Garnish and serve: Pour the Apple Cider Sangria into glasses filled with ice. Top each glass with a fresh rosemary sprig and a cinnamon stick stirrer.
