- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas until smooth; stir in melted butter.
- Mix in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over mixture; stir in.
- Add flour and stir just until incorporated.
- Fold in chopped walnuts.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Bananas should be very ripe for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- Toast walnuts before adding for enhanced flavor and crunch.
- This loaf can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 days when wrapped tightly.
- For longer storage, wrap well and freeze for up to 3 months.
