Description

Amazing Creme Brulee French Toast for a Decadent Brunch Experience

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Brioche or Challah
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the brioche or challah into 1-inch thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and frothy.
  3. Pour the custard over the bread slices, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the dish sit for 15 minutes before baking uncovered for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top of the baked French toast and caramelize using a kitchen torch until golden amber.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature eggs for best results.
  • Can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • Opt for pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste for best flavor.
