Ingredients

- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and spices.
- In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy, then mix in molasses and egg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mix, combine well.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Shape cheesecake filling into balls and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Wrap dough around cheesecake balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are firm.
- Let cookies cool before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, you can incorporate orange zest or extra spices. Use wax paper to separate layers when storing.
