Description
Gingerbread Syrup is the perfect festive flavoring for all of your holiday favorites.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 2 tablespoons unsulphured molasses
- 1 ¼ teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground allspice
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan set over medium-high heat, combine water, granulated sugar, brown sugar, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. Whisk continuously until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, whisking regularly, or until syrup thickens and coats a spoon.
- Remove pot from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Transfer syrup to a clean glass jar and allow to cool (it will continue to thicken as it cools).
- Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
