Description

Halloween Monster Burgers are juicy, cheesy, and spooky fun! These Halloween burgers are decorated with olive eyes, mozzarella balls, and cheddar cheese teeth, making them the ultimate kids’ monster food and a perfect Halloween dinner idea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 oz ground beef (80/20 blend, 5 oz per patty)
  • 12 teaspoons oil
  • 8 medium black olives
  • 8 mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini), patted dry
  • 8 tomato slices (from about 2 medium tomatoes)
  • 4 slices orange cheddar cheese
  • 4 pieces green lettuce, rinsed and patted dry
  • 4 pickle slices
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Form four 5-oz hamburger patties, slightly wider than buns.
  2. Press thumbprint into the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat skillet over medium heat, add oil, and cook patties, flipping once, until done. Cook to 160°F internal temp for safety.
  5. Prepare monster faces: cut olives in half, attach to mozzarella balls with toothpicks for eyes.
  6. Slice tomatoes and pat dry. Cut jagged triangles from cheddar slices to resemble teeth.
  7. Assemble burgers: bun bottom + lettuce + patty + 2 tomato slices + pickle tongue + cheese teeth + top bun.
  8. Secure mozzarella/olive eyes on top with toothpicks.
  9. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • You can tint the buns with green food coloring for green monster burgers.
  • Swap ground beef for turkey, chicken, or plant-based patties if preferred.
  • Get kids involved in decorating for a fun Halloween family activity!
