Description

This Hamachi Crudo with Grapefruit and Serrano Chili is a vibrant appetizer that combines fresh hamachi with tangy grapefruit and spicy Serrano chili.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp Grapefruit juice
  • 1 tbsp Grapefruit zest
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 4 oz Sushi grade hamachi
  • 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp Minced chives
  • 1 Serrano chili or jalapeño
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine grapefruit juice, grapefruit zest, rice vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, and honey. Mix until smooth and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.
  2. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the sushi-grade hamachi into bite-sized pieces, aiming for about 1/4-inch thick.
  3. On a large plate or small platter, artfully arrange the hamachi slices. Drizzle the chilled dressing over each piece.
  4. Sprinkle the hamachi with minced chives and toasted sesame seeds.
  5. Top each piece of hamachi with a single slice of Serrano chili, showering everything with a pinch of sea salt. Serve immediately.
