- 4 large Eggs
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 cup Raisins or Nuts
- Butter (for greasing the baking dish)
- Powdered Sugar (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish generously with butter.
- Cut stale bread into 1-inch cubes and distribute in the baking dish.
- Whisk together the eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.
- Mix milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt into the eggs.
- Pour the egg mixture over the cubed bread and press down gently.
- Sprinkle optional raisins or nuts over the soaked bread if desired.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
- Cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
