Description

This easy 5-ingredient saltine cracker toffee recipe delivers rich, buttery, cracker-filled toffee with a smooth chocolate topping and a satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ sleeves salted saltine crackers (4550 crackers)
  • 1 cup (224g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (224g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 cups (338g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup (56g) chopped pecans
  • Flakey sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a 10×15 cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Lay crackers out into an even layer, covering the whole pan. It’s ok if there’s some space between the crackers.
  3. Combine the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan and heat over medium heat, allowing butter to melt. Bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to boil for 3 minutes. Do not stir.
  4. Immediately pour the mixture over the crackers. Some may float to the top, just keep them in an even layer. Spread into an even layer and fully cover the crackers.
  5. Bake in the oven for 5-6 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let it sit for about 5 minutes for the chocolate to melt, then spread evenly over the crackers.
  7. Sprinkle some chopped pecans on top, then allow to cool completely.
  8. Break or cut toffee into pieces and enjoy.
