- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- While spaghetti is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Return cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the spicy chicken spaghetti sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
