Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Steak Strips
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 0.5 tsp Cumin
- 1 cup Rice (Jasmine or Basmati)
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
- 0.5 cup Monterey Jack Cheese (shredded)
- 0.75 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tbsp Cream Cheese
- 0.25 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro (chopped)
- 1 Jalapeño (sliced)
- 1 tbsp Sour Cream
- 0.5 cup Diced Tomatoes
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring beef broth, butter, salt, garlic powder, and paprika to a boil. Stir in the rice, cover, and let it simmer for 15-18 minutes until the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.
- Season the steak strips with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side, reaching your preferred doneness. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream while melting in the cream cheese. Gradually stir in the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses until smooth. Mix in the garlic powder and optional cayenne for extra kick.
- Divide the fluffy rice among bowls and layer the succulent steak strips on top. Drizzle generously with the creamy queso sauce.
- Top your creation with fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeño, and a dollop of sour cream if desired. Enjoy every bite of your cheesy steak rice!
Notes
- Optional: Sprinkle extra cheese on top for an even cheesier experience!
- For a spicier dish, add more jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the queso sauce.
- Consider grilling the steak for a smoky flavor.
