Description

A quick and hearty beef pasta dish with a flavorful puttanesca sauce featuring olives and tomatoes.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup kalamata olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 15 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water for the pasta and cook according to package directions.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until crispy.
  3. Add chopped onions and garlic to the skillet; sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the olives, capers, and crushed tomatoes, along with chili flakes.
  5. Simmer for about 10 minutes, cooking until the pasta is ready.
  6. Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of pasta water, and mix into the skillet.
  7. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce is too dry.
  8. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and add more olives if desired.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if using.

Notes

Feel free to customize with different types of pasta or proteins. Gluten-free pasta works great.
