Description

A simple and delicious recipe to make your own vanilla bean paste at home, perfect for enhancing desserts and baked goods.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 fresh vanilla beans
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 12 tablespoons corn syrup or honey
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Split the vanilla pods down the middle and scrape out the sticky seeds.
  2. Combine seeds and pods in a bowl with sugar and salt and mash together until it forms a paste.
  3. Add corn syrup or honey and continue mixing until the mixture is smooth and gooey.
  4. If the mixture is too dry, drizzle with warm water to adjust the consistency.
  5. Transfer the paste to a clean jar, seal it, and let it sit overnight to develop flavors.

Notes

Store in an airtight jar in the pantry for up to six months. If it crystallizes, simply stir to restore consistency.
