Description

A fun and tangy twist on a childhood favorite, these homemade dill pickle gummy worms are flavorful and simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or 1 tablespoon honey)
  • 23 drops green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your molds by placing them on a baking sheet.
  2. In a small saucepan, pour the pickle juice and sprinkle the gelatin over the surface. Let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  3. Place the saucepan over low heat and gently whisk until the gelatin is dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the sugar and whisk until fully dissolved. If using, add food coloring and stir to combine.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat, let it cool for 2-3 minutes, then fill the molds.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes until set.
  7. Once set, gently flex the molds to remove the gummies.

Notes

For extra tang, use juice from spicy pickles. For vegan option, substitute gelatin with agar-agar.
