Description
A tender and juicy slow cooker Italian beef recipe, perfect for sandwiches or as a main dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Beef Chuck Roast
- 2 tbsp Italian Seasoning
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 2 Bell Peppers, sliced
- ½ cup Pepperoncini Peppers
- Hoagie Rolls
Instructions
- Prepare the beef by trimming excess fat from the beef chuck roast and seasoning it with salt and pepper.
- Sear the roast in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Add the seared beef to your slow cooker.
- Add the sliced bell peppers on top of the beef, then pour in the beef broth, and add the Italian seasoning and pepperoncini peppers.
- Cook on low for 480 minutes or on high for about 240 minutes until the beef is tender.
- Shred the beef using two forks and return it to the slow cooker, stirring it into the juices.
- Serve the Italian beef on toasted hoagie rolls, spooning some cooking juices over the top.
Notes
Use a good quality beef chuck roast for better flavor and tenderness. Customize the spice level by adding more pepperoncini or red pepper flakes.
